Last weekend for the Dutch championship Zona Afd. 7 Noord represented the organization of the second contest with launch from the town of Duffel.
For the Comb. G&H Calis, the race was a real success, managing to occupy the first 3 positions of the general category with a number of 6 pigeons in the top 10 of the 6827 participating pigeons.
The Comb. G&H Calis is made up of father and son, the latter inheriting the passion for pigeons from his father and laying the foundations of a tandem that succeeds year after year in obtaining top results at the provincial and even national level.
They became very famous after they managed to win the title of National Champions in the As Category in Youngbirds competitions. They tackle all competitions between 100-700 km, but in recent years they have decided to focus more on stages over 350 km.
Also, for 4 seasons in the years 2007, 2019, 2020 and 2021, they managed to win the Ace General Youngbirds Category in the Provincial Championship.
As for the Duffel competition, it took place in normal flying conditions, the wind direction not influencing in any way the arrival of the pigeons.
The first pigeon found in the competition had to cover a distance of 139 km, being found in the same second as the 2nd, 3rd and 5th place. It is reproduced from an original T&J Elzinga male son of the famous "Prince Esmee" purchased by on the PIPA website, and the mother "Mia" is a combination of Sangers x Verbree pigeons, a good flyer and later breeder in the breeding of the Comb. G&H Calis.
Regarding the flight system, they are competed according to the total widow method, both males and females, the conditioning in the last week being done only with the products of the famous Dutch breeder Marcel Sangers.
The debut in the new season for the Comb. G&H Calis is certainly not an accident, and they will certainly continue to be top at the stages of the Dutch championship.
