        The area of ​​Moldova continues to stand out through the breeders who approach the long-distance categories, both through logistical investments but especially through the quality of the genetic material they possess.

        It is also the case of the Botosani county group which, in the cross-country competition starting from the Polish town of Janow, managed to obtain very good results in the general ranking together with the Sucevian colleagues.

        Regarding the general classification at the start, a considerable number of 5810 pigeons of the 427 pigeon fanciers took part, of which a number of 814 pigeons belong to the Botosani group.

        The breeder of the Botosani zone competition is none other than Dediu Daniel, a well-known breeder who has proven himself since 2005 in the overall, long distance, marathon and also in the OLR type competitions.

        The competition was characterized as being very difficult due to the head wind and high temperatures, but that did not prevent the growth of the Botosani to win the competition, respectively to register a number of 4 pigeons in the top 10 at the zone level.

        A big disadvantage of the Dediu Daniel breeders is the small number of pigeons employed at the zone level, but also the geographical position is not exactly favorable.

         His quality pigeons have overcome the two elements that are not exactly conducive to the development of pigeon sport at the highest level, and the top purchases from the well-known Romanian breeder Florea Sorin have had their say.

        The first pigeon arrived, the one that occupied the first position of the county ranking, is actually the result of a pairing of two original Florin Sorin pigeons, which, being competed in the widowhood, managed to obtain the second 1st place in this season's long distance competitions.

        Despite the not-so-favorable flight factors, the geographical position, but especially the small number of pigeons employed at the group level, Dediul Daniel continues to remain one of the basic breeders of Botosani zone.
