The date of June 4 represented for the branch on the shore of the Black Sea the organization of the second half-distance race with a launch from the town of Bivolari. Over time, the Constanta Branch stood out as great lovers of the short distance categories that they offered to the world of pigeon lovers, managing to write history in terms of national and international competitions.
For years in a row, the national podium was monopolized by these breeders who, through the prism of quality purchases and especially the strict focus on the one-day categories, broke records after records that even today are hard to imagine at that time.
Already the traditional half-distance with launch from the town of Bivolari gathered at the start a number of 4511 pigeons of the 107 participating breeders from the Constanta 1, Constanta 2 and Medgidita clubs.
The weather was characterized to be very good, clear at the time of the launch with a light wind from the front in the first part of the route, respectively a light wind from the back side during the last tens of km of the pigeons' flight.
The winner of the competition, practically the one who dominated the first part of the ranking, is Duda Sergiu, the well-known breeder from Constanta with notable results at the national and provincial level in the past in long distance competitions.
For him, the year 2022 represented a "refresh", when he gave up competing from the old location at his parents' house and built his own kennel at the current location based exclusively for speed and mildlle distance competitions.
In the desire to score points and stand out in these categories, he purchased pigeons from Antwerp from the titans of short-track players from the most famous province in Belgium. The first pigeon on the general ranking is a young female bred from pigeons imported from Belgium, a combination of two originals from Cyriel Lambrechts and Gebr. Van den Brande.
As a flight system, it was competed as widowed as the rest of the flight group from the beginning of the season until the end.
Certainly the dedication and especially the professionalism of the breeder Duda Sergiu will determine other top results and his presence on the first stage of pigeon fanciers at the national level is only a matter of time.
