The Gold Club offers Romanian pigeon fanciers one of the most attractive and motivating competitions with money prizes. The Gold Club was founded in 2018, and since then, pigeon fanciers have the opportunity to duel for one of the 10 national prizes at stake, worth 10,000 lei.
Florin Petrache, from Neamț, is one of the most valuable Romanian pigeon fanciers, with multiple national prizes and participation in the Pigeon Olympics. Within the Gold Club, he is a true specialist, winning the 5th national prize in the 2024 season. Considering that we are talking about seven editions of the Gold Club up to and including 2024, Florin Petrache's performance is even greater.
2nd place national Gold 2024
Florin Petrache not only won one of the 10 national prizes. He even came in second place, with the hen RO-23-2026485, who accumulated only 2.33 penalty points. The same hen is also the 2nd place national in the Yearlings Long Distance category, a performance that once again demonstrates her very good flying qualities. In fact, Florin Petrache's vice-champion comes from a family of champions. A half-sister of his also took 2nd place national Gold 2019 and 2nd place national Ace Long Distance Yearlings.
In order to participate in the Gold Club competitions, Florin Petrache annually purchases 50 specific rings. Yearlings ringed with these rings participate in the first two long distances races of the season, and if the scores are not satisfactory, they are withdrawn and sent to the marathon races. For the Gold Club, only those yearlings who have a chance of winning at least one national Gold award remain, a strategy that has worked out well for Florin Petrache so far.
