Kipp und Shone, the titans of the marathon

 The Kipp family, from Althornbach, Germany, is an extremely well-known name internationally. Although they were established 25 years ago, when we hear about the Kipp Family and their pigeons, the thought takes us to one of the "monuments" of pigeon fandom, thus making them comparable to the founders of the famous lines of the 20th century. But, it's not quite like that. Kipp and Sons are contemporary pigeon fanciers, although their results in marathon stages, nationally and internationally, can be considered "from another era".

 The tandem "Kipp und Shone" is formed by Wulfram Kipp, who made his debut in the pigeon sport in 1953, and his sons, the most famous of whom is Hugo. This, that is, Hugo Kipp, is the one who has already taken over the "reins" of the breeding for a long time and managed to take the name of his family to the highest heights of success. Their performance is constant year after year, the two having very good results including in 2023 (3rd place in the Marathon National ranking, 1st and 2nd places in the 3-year AS Narbonne National ranking (2021-2023), 1st, 2nd, 4th places , 5, 6, 8 in the AS Male IGW International ranking, 3rd place in the Atlantic Cup, 4th place in the International AS Fanciers IGW ranking, 7th, 11, 12th places in the AS Barcelona National ranking 3 years 2021-2023).

 Lovers of marathon competitions, the Kipp Family competed in the races organized by Belgium and the Netherlands from the beginning. After several victories at the national level, not to be neglected, the first big result was achieved by the Kipp Family right at the benchmark stage of the West in terms of marathon, that is Barcelona. It happened in 1998, and the victory of the German pigeon fanciers was all the more resounding as they awarded themselves the 1st international place. Since then a long series of international victories followed, 13 in total, among which we can mention the 1st place International St. Vincent or 1 international Bordeaux. Thus, from this point of view, strictly in terms of the number of international victories, including the Barcelona stage, the Kipp Family competes with the biggest names from Holland or Belgium, many of the famous pigeon fans here being categorically outclassed by this track record.

25 wins at national level and many other results

 At the level of Germany, the record of the Kipp Family is even more crushing. They achieved no less than 25 1st places at the national level over time, winning practically everything that could be won at the stage level. Of course, the Kipp Family's track record is hard to match even in the case of the results obtained in the national championship and even in the international ones, of the type generated by PIPA. Thus, in Germany, the Kipp Family won only the title of "National Champion" eight times, not counting the other positions on the 2nd and 3rd places of the podium. At the same time they are twice international marathon champions. In addition to these results, we must state that the Kipp Family has always sought to get the best out of their pigeons, being great lovers of "Ace" pigeons. This desired was a goal in itself and over time they managed to "uncover" no less than 12 national aces and several international aces. At the same time, the Kipp Family owns several Olympic pigeons, including no less than six (!) just at the last edition of the Olympics, held in Oradea in 2022, and including the 2024 Olympics, the Kipp Family will participate with two pigeons.

 These are, broadly speaking, the competitive coordinates of the Kipp Family, pigeon fanciers who, through their results, will remain forever in the history of pigeon fancier sport.
