Laurentiu Vîlsan and Vicentiu Scripcaru, the national champions of the Yearlings and Old Birds Long distance Categories

The new national champions of the Yearlings and Old birds Long distance categories are pigeon fanciers Laurentiu Vîlsan, from the Prahova Branch, and Vicentiu Scripcaru, from the Galați Branch.

As is very well known, to fulfill the norm of the Long distance category, both mature pigeons and youngsters or youngsters, must fly and place three races with a distance of more than 500 km.

Laurentiu Vîlsan (PH), national champion at Yearlings Long distance category

On the national podium of the Yearlings long distance category this season we find only hens. The national champion, the hen in first place, is RO-2023-0559022, competed by Laurentiu Vîlsan from Măgurele, Prahova. She placed very well in three races of 525 km, starting from Askos, Greece, placing 1/3157 pigeons, 2/1459 pigeons and 8/7392 pigeons. Following these very good finishes he accumulated only 2.77 penalty points. The young champion competed in widowhood all season.

From the point of view of origins, Laurentiu Vîlsan's champion is reproduced by Istvan Bartos from Covasna. It is amazing that her litter brother takes, also this season, the 2nd place in the national Yearlings Speed! The paternal grandparents are a son of Pitbull and a sister to Diamant by Frans and Marcel Van Der Brande, and her mother is bred from an original Rudy van Reth male, mated to the dam of Cosmin Olteanu's champion 016484-2016 , which in turn was bred from two national champions. It should be noted that the team of long distance races for Laurentiu Vîlsan was formed in 2024 from only 10 pigeons.

Vicentiu Scripcaru (GL), again national champion

Season after season, Vicentiu Scripcaru, from Galati, increases his record of national trophies won in the Long Distance category. Most likely, this is the Romanian pigeon fancier with the most national trophies won in this category (and its derivatives), in the 2024 season winning no less than four other national trophies (three from 1st place). Thus, the pigeon fancier from Galaţi is the national champion in the Long Distance category, with the cock RO-2021-0677223 (coefficient 2.55 penalty points). The same cock is also the national champion of the As Long Distance category, with 12.83 penalty points! The long-distance races with which he achieved these super results were Tomaszow (Poland) and had a distance of 591 km. In two of these, the champion obtained the 1st place in the county, from 789 and 598 pigeons.

Vicentiu Scripcaru is also national champion in the Breeders' Long Distance category, and in the 3-year Breeders Long Distance, he ranks 3rd nationally.
