Recital "in Liviu Plăvițu style", which sets a real national record: the first 30 places on the launch at 163 km

It is no longer a surprise to anyone that Liviu Plăvițu, from Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Mehedinți, is one of the best pigeon fanciers in Romania. At the same time, in recent years, he has become a real specialist in youngsters competitions, being the breeder who, no later than last year, won no less than 6 national trophies in different categories dedicated to youngsters.

The fanciers from Mehedinți county are already at the fifth competition of the season with youngsters. Thus, four speed stages, one middle distance have already been held and, at the time of writing, the pigeons are boarded for the first long-distance stage.

And the 2024 season with the youngsters is quite a good one for Liviu Plăvițu, but, by far, the contest with no. 4 speed. Here, the pigeon fancier from Mehedinți was the author of a real recital, never before seen in Romania. At the contest starting from the town of Buzești (Olt county), at a distance of 163 km for Liviu Plăvițu, he basketed 121 youngsters. Launched at 07:30, no less than 29 pigeons arrived at Liviu Plăvițu's loft at 09:23. They were clocked in 37 seconds, followed by another pigeon in just 4 seconds, making them the top 30 on the launch! Another wave of arrivals followed, so Liviu Plăvițu can be found another 18 times in the top 51 on release! In short, only the 31st, 32nd and 34th places out of the first 51 per release are occupied by another breeder, which represents the most impressive series of arrivals ever recorded in Romania at a racing pigeon competition! We specify the fact that at this stage 3,255 pigeons were basketed, which is not exactly little.

To make everything perfect at this competition, Liviu Plăvițu also won 1st place in breeders, out of 83 participants. What's more, he ranked 103 of the 121 youngsters basketed, 68 of them in the top 100 on release!
