And pigeon fanciers from Alba county are competing in the 2024 season on three flight plans in the Speed category. Four contests have already been held on two of these plans up to this date. At these, the Bedeleanu+Schiau tandem had remarkable arrivals, being the pigeon fanciers with the best performance so far at the stages on the 1st level of competitions.
The plan one of competitions is the plan on which the pigeon fanciers from the Aiud, Câmpia Turzii, Mihai Viteazul and Teiuș pigeon clubs compete, being, at the same time, the plan on which the largest number of pigeon fanciers in this county compete.
3 pigeons in the first 10 in the first competition and 2 breeders place
The tandem formed by pigeon fanciers Dominic Bedeleanu and Alexandru Schiau started right from the first race of the season. At this first competition, with launch from Bozanta town, Maramureș county, where they had a distance of 160 km, the two took the 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th places in the launch out of 7,951 pigeons, just to remember the top 20 rankings on the overall ranking. In total, they ranked 43 of the 56 pigeons employed at the stage, the tandem also occupying 2nd place among breeders, out of 174 participants.
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th places pigeons and 1st place breeders in the third competition
With the third stage of the season, the competition starting from the town of Turt, Satu Mare county, the evolution of the pigeons of the Bedeleanu+Schiau tandem was even better. At this stage, where they had a distance of 205 km, the two pigeon fanciers from Teiuș occupied the first six places on the launch, out of 7,116 pigeons. Moreover, they also won first place among breeders, out of 182 participants, ranking no less than 51 of the 55 pigeons entered.
Very good arrivals in the fourth race as well
The fourth race was almost as good. This time, the pigeons were released from the Hungarian town of Kisvarda, the pigeons of the Bedeleanu+Schiau tandem having a distance of 263 km. Even though it was a slightly more difficult competition, the tandem managed to take the first two places on the release, out of 6,439 pigeons, having also three other pigeons in the top 20 on the overall ranking. They also performed very well in breeders, ranking where they took 3rd place out of 178 participants. "I can say that the season caught us a little off guard, because it was decided at the last minute to start a week earlier than originally decided. This made us widow the pigeons just three days before the first competition, but not all of them, because some of them remained on the eggs. Up to the 300 km stages we only use Vanrobaeys mix 29 to train the pigeons. Between stages we do two or three training sessions, the first 70 km and the second and possibly the third 50 km. At the beginning of the season, the pigeons are not seen at all these trainings, but we prefer not to motivate them very much", said Dominic Bedeleanu.
