The last week of May represented for the Sibiu group the organization of the fifth speed competition from those scheduled within the flight plan of mature pigeons.
The launch took place from the Hungarian town of Kisvarda and gathered at the start a number of 2303 pigeons of the 74 pigeon fanciers from the Sibiu and Medias clubs.
As far as the weather conditions are concerned, they did not in any way determine the arrival of the pigeons, practically there was no wind or precipitation on the flight path of the pigeons.
The winner of the contest, practically the one who dominated the first four positions of the general ranking, is the well-known Sibiian breeder Savu Ioan, the one who left a positive mark on our country in Spain when he competed in tandem with the president of the Spanish pigeon fancier.
For about 18 years, he was recognized as the "miracle" novel from Catalonia where, together with Victor Gallemi, he won numerous national and provincial awards.
As the love of country calls most Romanians back, in 2018 our protagonist returned to the Siberian lands where he started to compete again under his own name. Starting with the year 2022, he started competing with his good childhood friend, Sambotin Ovidiu.
The winning pigeon is a young female from last year, a combination of the already famous Jos Soontjes x Leo Heremans pigeons imported directly from the well-known English breeder Cris Gordon.
