Mădălin Digulescu is a dedicated enthusiast of marathon pigeons, based in Petroșani, a location that is seemingly challenging for this field. His ambition to achieve remarkable results in marathon competitions led him to invest substantially in top-quality pigeons, both from Romanian breeders and those from Belgium and the Netherlands.
To assess the performance of his pigeons in various regions of the country, he established a partnership with Staicu Cosmin in Filiași, a trusted friend. The results soon followed: his pigeons secured 1st place at the county level, 3rd place at the provincial level, and 15th place at the national level in the Youth Marathon Grand Prix. Additionally, he achieved 2nd place at the county level in the same competition in 2019.
The mother of the pigeon that took 1st place at the county level was purchased by Mr. Digulescu, while the mother of the pigeon that won 2nd place was bred by the same breeder. These achievements highlight that the descendants of these acquired pigeons are already demonstrating significant value in competitions, indicating the success of his strategy for selecting and investing in high-quality genetic material.
