Daniel Sîrbu presents himself as a true enthusiast of long-distance flights, a passion for pigeon racing that has been instilled in him since childhood. At the age of 44, he continues to keep pigeons and live this passion with deep emotion. Residing in Timișoara, Sîrbu trains his pigeons from his parents' location, situated in a mountainous area of Caraș-Severin County, a less favorable environment for raising racing pigeons.
His first satisfactions in pigeon racing came with the discovery of an exceptional breeding female known as "The Mother," a bird brought from Germany that quickly stood out in the Timișoara loft. "Elsa" and "Elias" are the names of this female's offspring, who have excelled in some of the most challenging competitions in Western Europe, such as Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt, Karlovy Vary, and Prague. Additionally, the descendants of the super breeder "The Mother" have achieved remarkable performances in the German championship, competing in international races from Cahors and Bergerac.
Driven by a desire to continuously improve his results, Daniel Sîrbu reached out to the lofts of some renowned pigeon fanciers in Europe, including Cor de Heijde, Jacky de Bruine, Cees Niesten, and Ijsbrand Kaptein, from whom he acquired descendants from the most valuable bloodlines.
The quality of the pigeons he acquired quickly made an impact, and in 2021, a descendant from a Cor de Heijde x Jacky de Bruine pairing managed, at just one year old, to win 1st place at the county level in Caraș-Severin, in the challenging Berlin stage, covering a distance of 1127 km. The same bird also secured 1st place in Zone III Berlin and 21st place in the Berlin National, competing against 3,115 pigeons.
For Daniel Sîrbu, a new chapter began with the inauguration of a new loft in Timișoara, leading him to part with all the offspring descended from the top pigeons of his previous loft.
